Our Story
Road Ready was launched in 2015 when we moved to the Sunshine Coast with our family. We had both been training since 2004 in Melbourne so have countless hours behind the wheel and have taught students to drive in some of the busiest and congested roads in Australia.
Road Ready has since grown and now has a team of 4 trainers covering from Noosa, Tewantin down to Maroochydore. All of our trainers use late model, air-conditioned, dual control vehicles and have a wealth of experience in the industry.
As parents of two teenage girls, we care about the future of the next generation. Our role is not to simply help you pass your practical driving test but equip you with lifelong defensive, safe driving skills. We ensure students are well educated and aware of the risks associated with driving.
We have a passion for road safety and make sure all our students are up to date with the latest road rules. Once you have completed your driver training, our customer promise is that you will be Road Ready.

Between the 4 of us, we have in excess of 60 years of experience in training drivers how to drive, but well over 150 years of driving experience and this on road experience covers cars, motorbikes and trucks. To say we are all experienced is an understatement.

Whether you’re a beginner or looking to brush up on specific skills, our lessons are designed to help you become a skilled and responsible driver. We are incredibly patient and have a passion for helping students who require a little bit more assistance to either gain the skills or confidence to get behind the wheel of a car. Students with a learning disability, NDIS participants and those who are feeling like they left it too late to get started, we love helping you all.

Flexible Scheduling: Life can be hectic, and we understand that. That’s why we offer flexible scheduling options to accommodate your busy lifestyle. We offer lessons before school and after work Monday to Friday, with lessons available between 7am – 5:45pm, we’ve got you covered. Saturday lessons by request.
Emma McArdle
Automatic Trainer
Emma has been a driver trainer for over 19 years. Prior to establishing Road Ready with her husband David, she was working for Victoria’s largest drive school – RACV Drive School where she was a preferred driver trainer, as well as a few years in her own independent driving school. Emma also successfully ran a Gloria Jeans Coffees franchise in Melbourne’s South Eastern suburbs. With many of her previous roles involving spending time driving on the busy Melbourne roads, Emma boasts countless hours of quality driving experience in all conditions.
Emma is patient, calm and caring and very understanding of those with anxiety or special needs

David McArdle
Manual Trainer
David has been a driver trainer for over 20 years. Prior to establishing Road Ready in 2015, he worked in Melbourne’s busiest suburbs in both his own driving school as well as Victoria’s largest drive school – RACV Drive School. David has also held previous roles where road safety is a priority such as his time in the Victorian Police Force and non-emergency patient transport.

Russell Baillie
Automatic Trainer
Russell has 12 years experience as a Driving Instructor, both on the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane. His calm, no stress teaching manner appeals to all students and most of his excellent reviews mention this attribute. Happily married with 3 Daughters and 2 grandchildren, Russell is a regular jogger and Gym goer and enjoys the beach and most sports. Russell loves movies, previously in his earlier times working for a large cinema chain for 14 years and later running a video store. He has had many years of quality customer service and relationship building with his customers and clients. He has great success with students who may be very nervous or anxious about learning to drive and also values giving relevant feedback to students each lesson.

David Andrews
Automatic Trainer
David has been a driver trainer since 2023, he has many years’ experience in transport and logistics which includes spare parts delivery driver, motorcycle courier, truck and crane truck driver sometimes driving under high pressure situations.
Since becoming a driver trainer David finds it very rewarding to be able to help learner drivers believe more in their skills behind a wheel and watching their confidence grow not just as a driver but personally as well.
David would like all learner drivers to feel that driving can be a very fun experience when driving safely and responsibly.
David is a very calm and approachable person, sensitive to the nerves and anxieties of new learners and will always make sure that the comfortability and safety of the learners that come to him are always his first priority.
